Whitney joined American Gateways as a Staff Attorney in the fall of 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A., summa cum laude, 2010) and the University of Texas School of Law (J.D. with high honors, 2014). During law school, Whitney served as Executive Editor of the Texas International Law Journal and participated in the Immigration Clinic and Actual Innocence Clinic as a student attorney. She interned during the summers at American Gateways and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica. Following law school, Whitney served as a law clerk for Judge Priscilla R. Owen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and then as a legal fellow at The Advocates for Human Rights in Minneapolis. Whitney speaks Spanish and is excited to be working with immigrant communities in Central Texas again.
