Ingrid Olarte Rojas
Ingrid Olarte Rojas is a legal caseworker who has been with the organization since 2016. She is an attorney licensed to practice law in her home country of Colombia. For more than 12 years she worked for the government of Colombia in different entities and served as a legal advisor in defense of the fundamental rights of indigenous people and other ethnic minorities as well as youth. Ingrid also practiced in other areas of law in Colombia such as education law, urban planning, and public administrative law. Ingrid started working with American Gateways as a volunteer and later became part of the legal team, supporting the lawyers in providing services to individuals in immigration detention as well as applicants for asylum and other forms of humanitarian immigration relief. Ingrid received her Bachelor's Degree in law from the National University of Colombia and specialization in constitutional law from the same university. Ingrid is motivated to work with American Gateways because, as an immigrant to the U.S, she recognizes our clients’ need for guidance and support as they seek new opportunities and the chance to improve their lives.
