Alyssa joined American Gateways in 2023. In her youth, she volunteered with her parents teaching citizenship classes. This cemented for her a love of service and shaped her future career path. She went on to attend St. Edward’s University where she majored in Sociology and Spanish and Texas State where she earned her M.S. in Applied Sociology. She has spent her career in community outreach, fund development, and grant administration. In her free time she enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with her husband and their dog.
