Alexis joined American Gateways in June 2024. Growing up along the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, she experienced the unique blend of cultures both cities offer. Alexis earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso. In 2015, she volunteered with victims of human trafficking and refugees in Madrid, Spain. Before joining American Gateways, Alexis worked as a case manager for the Office of Refugee Resettlement. This experience fueled her passion for helping the migrant community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, walks in nature, and spending time with family and friends.
