Leslie joined American Gateways as a Legal Fellow in the fall of 2019, and she returned to the organization as a Staff Attorney in 2021. Leslie received her Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Texas in 2013, with a major in Latin American Studies.  She graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2019. Prior to joining American Gateways, Leslie worked for over five years with organizations serving immigrants in Texas, including providing pro se assistance to immigrants detained at the Port Isabel Detention Center at ProBAR, representing unaccompanied minors at RAICES in Austin, and representing asylum seekers at the Immigration Clinic at the University of Texas School of Law. Leslie speaks Spanish.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and son, gardening, and cooking.
