Griselda Cepeda Barrera is the Co-Director of Programs and Operations at American Gateways providing support in managing the overall agency programs, agency administration, fundraising, and short- and long-term agency planning. Griselda oversees the Orientation Programs at the adult detention centers and at the San Antonio Immigration Court and various other San Antonio direct representation and pro se assistant programs. Griselda represents detained individuals in their removal proceedings and assists individuals with family petitions. Prior to American Gateways, Griselda spent 6 years at a private immigration firm helping in their removal defense program. Griselda has over 20 years of experience in the immigration field and has dedicated much of her career at American Gateways since 2008. Griselda is an alumni of San Antonio College and Texas Careers with extensive leadership training. Born in Monterrey, Mexico and raised in the Westside of San Antonio, TX, Griselda strives to utilize her own immigration experience to provide compassionate and quality services to our community.
